Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to toddler age groups, incorporating literacy education, early intervention strategies, and Montessori principles when applicable
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management
- Engage children in hands-on activities that support physical development, social skills, language acquisition, and early math concepts
- Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address individual needs related to special education or behavior management, and support child welfare
- Maintain detailed records of each child's developmental progress, classroom activities, and assessments aligned with standardized testing requirements when necessary
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, including transitions, mealtimes, nap schedules, and outdoor play sessions
- Participate in ongoing professional development focused on childhood development trends, classroom management techniques, and early childhood education best practices
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention techniques for toddlers
- Experience in curriculum development with an emphasis on literacy education and preschool readiness skills
- Proven ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering a nurturing environment for young children
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with parents, colleagues, and specialists in special education or child welfare programs
- Familiarity with Montessori methods and teaching physical education suited for toddlers is a plus
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies that promote positive social interactions and emotional regulation
- Prior classroom experience in daycare or private preschool settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment tools
- Skills in lesson planning that incorporate math concepts suitable for toddler learners
