Locations: Penfield Village Nursery School & Kindergarten

Work with under the direction of class teachers by:

·       Working in partnership with class teachers to support learning, in groups or on a one-to-one basis, under the direction of teaching staff

·       Providing structured support in accordance with specific work programmes designed and supervised by individual teachers

·       Contributing to the assessment of children’s learning and development through careful observation and objective and accurate reporting

·       Assisting the class teacher in maintaining and managing a high quality indoor and outdoor learning environment

·       Preparing and maintaining teaching resources 

Assist in ensuring a high quality of provision for the welfare of all Children:

·       Assisting with playground duty

·       Undertaking supervisory duties at dismissal

·       Assisting children in changing and attend to their needs

·       Assisting with children who are unwell 

To attend and participate in school development activities, promote fundraising and participation:

·       School Staff meetings

·       Participate or volunteer in two school wide events

·       Staff training and development activities

 

Person Specification for Teaching Assistant

The person appointed to the post of Teaching Assistant at Penfield Village and Nursery School & Kindergarten would exhibit the following characteristics:

-       Hard working with a strong desire and ability to collaborate with Lead Teacher as well as colleagues and the director.

Benefits & Compensation  

  • Hourly Rate: $16.50 to $18.00 based on experience.  

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, school-day hours 2.5-3 hours/day, ideal for someone looking for a work life balance.
